standard is .0008 to .0019 with the limit being .0004 Are you using assembly lube? Do the altimas have the bearing girdle or just caps? And just to make sure, you did remove the plastigauge after you used it to measure?

Thanks and yes im covering the bearings with it like crazy. And the altima uses caps not the girdles. Are those measurments in "in" or "mm"? Thanks

those are main bearing measurements in inches. con rod is .0004 - .0014 and limit .0035. Where you able to turn it before you installed the pistons? Where are you at exactly on the rebuild? Once the timing chain is on it will almost be impossible to turn by hand, although fairly easy with a breaker bar on the crankshaft nut.

Did you put any of the main bearing caps or rod caps on backwards? My motor would not move even with a breaker bar on the crank until I realized I put all the rod caps on backwards. Flipped them around and I could spin it by hand.

Yeah the rod caps are on the right way and its still not wanting to turn to well. i got it to turn at 15 ft lbs and after that if you dont stop turning and tightening once i stop turning it at like 25 ft lbs its like it seizes and u cant get it to budge even with a breaker bar and two people putting all of their weight on it. It should be able to move on all torque specs right? or does that sound like the crank should be shaved to .25 and get .25 oversized bearings??
