ka24de piston grade numbers??

Well I just completely rebuilt a ka24de and swapped it in my 89 and runs great. While reading the manual the piston says they have grade numbers like 1 and 2. I know 3 were labeled 1 and one had a 2 on it or something like that. What would happen if i had the piston grades mixed up? The block and piston are supposed to match. These were the oem pistons now I am worried. If it has anything to do with clearances, then I should have no problem there.
