i have a 96 KA in my s13 and it keeps over heating. the temperature is always dead in the middle. never stays under how its supose to. i removed my A/C system so i hooked up the A/C fan so i can spin once i turn the key. no thermostat, i see no leaks when i look under my car, radiator is not clogged. what could it be???? could it be that i need to heat wrap my ebay header? help me please!!! thanks

also when im driving my car starts to bog and chokr pretty badly when i hit 2k-2.5k rpm. and my throttle response isn't that good. let me know hwat you guys think it could be. thanks

are you sure its really overheating and the gauge and/or sensor isnt the problem? do you have any other way checking the temp? I say that because one of my friend's has a 240 that his factory water temp dial stays right in the middle all the time and its not really over heating. If there is no doubt, then has the coolant been boiled? if so how many times has the engine been overheated that badly? If you removed the thermostat the water never stays in the radiator long enough to be properly cooled, and that could be causing your problem as well. But it also could be your water pump, more than likely it has nothing to do with the headers.

I say put in a thermostat and when its running and warmed up make sure the water pump is moving the water by squeezing the hoses, you should be to feel the water moving pretty good.

my old KA was overheating and it was the water pump...Im not to sure that not having a thermostat will make your car overheat since when ur car is at operating temp. (closed loop) the thermstat stays open...Not having a thermostat may have something to do with the crappy throttle response only if it happens right after you start your car....i'd go with what ^^^^ said check water pump! and put a thermostat in that damn thing!

Also where do you live? NO thermostat usually = NO HEAT...Brrrrrrrrr

yes and also having a thermostat purposely slows the flow of water through the radiator even when it is open, just think how much faster the water moves through there without anything in the way, and especially with a stock radiator, the cooling effect would be greatly reduced.
