i have a 96 KA in my s13 and it keeps over heating. the temperature is always dead in the middle. never stays under how its supose to. i removed my A/C system so i hooked up the A/C fan so i can spin once i turn the key. no thermostat, i see no leaks when i look under my car, radiator is not clogged. what could it be???? could it be that i need to heat wrap my ebay header? help me please!!! thanks

also when im driving my car starts to bog and chokr pretty badly when i hit 2k-2.5k rpm. and my throttle response isn't that good. let me know hwat you guys think it could be. thanks

ok lets just think about this really quickly. no thermostat expect it to be at above 170degrees. That's the whole purpose of the thermostat. Also, might be time to check that water pump and get a radiator cleaner/treatment. Might have some serious calcium blockage/rust.

The stutter at 2000-2500. Could be a really simple one. Check our dizzy cap for corossion and clean and treat them as well as the spark plug wires.

i removed the thermostat cuz i thought that would alow the coolant to flolw threw better. because i wired my A/C fan to start spinning once i turn the key. and my cat is empty, i gutted it out. and yesterday i changed the top part of my intake manifold and now its miss fieing like crazy and wont stay on for more than 2 seconds.

Wouldn't a faulty coolant temp sensor cause stumbling?I've heard about it happening.

ok. BUT..... when my car over heats the coolant in the resovoir starts bubbleing and leaks. so my tempurature sensor isnt lieing to me. and i cleaned my maf already. oh and how does the thermostat go on? i forgot. with the spring towards the radiator or towards the inside of the engine?

spring toward inside of engine. Look in the tutorials about refilling coolant. I had a few leaks and air bubbles. You supposed to jack your car as far up as it will go and put the heat on full blast and keep the rad cap off and fill as needed. After that close it and let it sit untill the pressure in the system is gone. Open and fill again. Repeat untill it is entirely full. Ohh and the thermostat the little jiggle bell goes at the 12' o clock position +/- 15degrees.

yea...one more thing to add shake the front end up and down cause the ka24de has a nasty habit of not removing all its bubble from the system....

the overheating is due to you not using the coolant bleed screw. Read the tutorials on how to bleed coolant.

i have bled the cooling system many times. but i will try tilting the car back and filling the radiator up to the top. also, i'll turn the car on and if i lightly press on the throttle it will bog and if i slow keep pushinh the gas in further it will continue to bog until the pedal is about half way in, thats when the revs start going up. . also i just have the stock a/c fan hooked up to start spinning once i turn the key. thats my only cooling fan.

UPDATE: so i tilted the car back to bleed the system. worked out pretty well. it rides better but not perfectly. overheating is still a factor but that might be due to a old radiator and the fact that i have only 1 10" cooling fan.

i was thinking that maybe its noy running the way it should because i have the cooling fan wired to the fuel pump. maybe thats why its bogging. ima bet a new radiator and dual cooling fans.

i would remove it from the fuel pump for to two reason, one if can be putting a parasite's on the fuel pump causing slow current flow and second you may putting stress on fuse too that goes to the fuel pump, if you need to place it on a ACC line put on some thing like the cigarettes light socket or spare in the fuse panel and for the water check for play in the fan pulley
