OK, i am wanting to do a sr swap or build my ka24de but i have limited funds. Thanks to my part time job at Hy Vee. I was planing on building my motor and turboing it but then i would have a built motor and no suspension. Do you think a sr swap is the quickest and cheapest way to get power?

Hey herman, welcome to good ole nicoclub as i see this is your first post. wait thats not your name, excuse me i didnt see your intro thread so i just assumed your name was herman lol..ooopsy moving right along

I think you answered your own question by asking your question. If your having problems rationalizing your thoughts to the point where such a broad question is at mind to you. I would suggest doing an SR as it seems your looking for the bang for the buck kind of deal here as you mentioned you had other areas of the car that needs some attention. A KA is a delinquent motor and needs some money to invest into her to prolong her life in connection with the power and stress you have added to the motor. The big ideas with would be a good turbo combined with a solid intercooler setup fuzed with a near perfect conservative tune. that alone is a good 1500 dollars if not a tad more depending on how anal you are with the parts you choose. The internals would be a big plus but not a necessity aslong as your not looking to make a ton of horsepower but again to do that your looking at alot more money.

To wrap up todays lesson on tell me what to do, do the SR or keep what you got and buy a spare KA and go HAM on it as you thank HY VEE for moving you up to full time whenever you start coming to work on time and ignoring the ladies after 2am. :dblthumb:

s13 redtop vs an s13 blacktop. I dont think so, i like redtops personally. I Ive had better luck with them but that could be some weird stuff not associated with motors but since you asked. S14 sr's which is a blacktop but also more known as a notch back from the slanted valve covers but theres a good bit of difference between that one and any s13 SR.
