I was told that all 1990 240SX's come with the KA24E... is this true? Because one guy is trying to tell me that his 1990 has a KA24DE.
Just curious if there were any exceptions.

All 1990 240SX's come with the KA24E from the factory. However, any 89 or 90 that someone blew the engine in, or had a new engine put in for whatever reason, is a possible canidate for the more powerful DE. It's pretty much a drop-in replacement, and the DE had greater availability, so it's possible to see a few 89's and 90's with the DE in them. But it isn't factory. ;-) Long enough and convoluted answer for you? Should I be a lawyer? Hehe. Hope that helps.
Hehe, no problem. There's a couple different ways to tell. The E's valve cover is deep, with a black finish, and says "12 Valve" on it. The DE's valve cover is just an aluminum finish, and says "16 Valve" on it. A E's plenum (I think that's the proper term) will also have "ECCS" etched on it; you won't see that on a DE. There's plenty of other ways to tell, but that should be the easiest way to tell. Good luck man.
