Noob here askin for help with 92 240sx w/ka24de. Burnin bout a quart of oil every 2 weeks or so. Have some clicking coming from #1 cyl. Not chain guides or Injector. Thinkin it might be a stuck valve? Maybe bad lifter? Any help'd be appreciated. Also, anyone ever seen a reroute of the air intake filter to battery (pass) side and battery moved to driver side? If so, how was it done?

i had a frozen lifter on my old ka-e. i believe it was caused due to oil starvation. if you are burning oil make sure you are constantly checking the oil level. once i put some more oil in, ran it for a few minutes then let it sit, next time i got back in the car to drive it had unseized and i was happy.

as for the question about switching the side the battery, ive seen it done but im not sure exactly how its done.

edit: heres a write-up on how to relocate your battery to the drivers side and run a shorter intake. http://www.240sx.org/links/ins...x.htm

ka24de's do not have lifters. They are cam-on-bucket.

Cam-on-bucket, the only reason I think I know this is because I just took apart my KADE head. The cam lobes actually push on these "buckets" whick are on top of the valve springs and that is what pushes the valve out. As far as your using oil, mine does that too and you just have to keep filling it up unless you rebuild it. I would do a compression test and if it is bad, I would rebuild before trying to do any major work to make it fast. I am rebuilding mine right now for KA-T. I know this isnt information that would really help figure out your problem but I hope it helped in some way.

Thanx for the explanation on the whole cam on bucket thing, MAV (sounds like something u might do to take a picture of cows or sumthin!) Also good to know that there are others with the KADE that burn oil. Not tryin to make the car any faster, just tryin to get it running as best as possible (shouldn't every car be treated that way?) Keep the help comin folks if you have any suggestions. 1

Mine is kinda low on the compression side right now and is runing really slow. My brother has a 95 and its MUCH faster than my 93. My conclusion is that my 240 has a few problems so I am just going to remedy that with a rebuilt turbo motor. Also, I didn't quite understand your comment about cows...
