Hello

My KA hasn't had a top end ever since I got it. Basically it feels 100% normal up until about 4-4.5k rpm. After that it kind of gently runs out of steam and is completely out of power by 5k rpm. No bucking misfire or anything odd. I had though it was a compression issue related to my head gasket. I've changed the gasket now, and have great compression. It does feel more powerful now, but still runs out of steam in the top end. I've double and triple checked the ignition and cam timing and it looks right to me. I had a spare AFM so I tried that as well. No luck!

Any other ideas what could be the problem? I'm thinking maybe something in the fuel system is causing the problem.

KA's aren't known for their top end power, so if everything is normal, you're probably just feeling the sluggish top end of the KA.

mine had the same problem till i changed my stock air box out with short ram intake i run an injen short ram n mine pushes up through 6k pretty easy i also put some 8.5mm magnecor plug wires on mine n it added a little bit of topend pull so you might try out these things to get a little more out of it not necessarily the specific brands but breathing upgrades of ne type help the ka for sure
