KA24DE, NO gasket for the Water Pump??

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

ok, i took off my water pump, cus i thought the bearing was bad... but it wasn't... .so I want to reinstall it... When i took it off, it only had RTV sealant, and no gasket in there.. There was NOT any leak, so the question is.. do ka blocks need the gasket for the water pump?!

just use RTV. make sure to let it dry completely

Just use form-a-gasket. Make a nice dolid bead around the edge and you shold be fine. Not hard at all.
