So im trying to figure out wats wrong with my motor.
95 s14 ka24de

has check engine light. was wondering if theres a way to check wat it is with out any tools

thats not my main question

im trying to figure out if i have either blown head gasket.

bad piston rings.

or sticky valves.

so i have a vacuum pressure gague to try and test the readings of the vacuum lines
does anyone know exactly how to test of the valves are getting stuck up for to long using a vacuum gague? or wat it should b reading.

i did a compression check 2 cylnders came out a little lower. but i didnt do a wet test for the rings yet.

and my motor is not over heating and the coolent is regular color could it still b a head gasket issue?

also im smelling very bad fuel inside the car.
i sniff near the engine bay and i smell nothing. i alrdy checked the engine fuel lines for a leak it all looks good.
fuel milage is good also.
wat else can i check let me know.

thanks everyone

for your first question, check for an OBD2 scanner port (yes trust me, even if your 95 is OBD1) right under the passenger glove box and to the left. If you have a tool you can scan with that. Otherwise some 240s have the port right under the steering wheel (full OBD2 compliant) to scan from. If you cant do either, look up how to put you ECU in diagnostic mode and pull the code off based on the lights - http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/ecm_codes_doch.htm

have fun.

see what code its throwing.

also if i let my car idle then i randomly give it full throttle white grey smoke comes out. but then if i keep letting go and giving it throtlle 2nd or third time it doesnt to it anymore.
*note i only hold the throttle for a second.

anyone know what that means?
