KA24DE mystery plug

okay im just finishing up wiring the DOHC into my AT 89. now there is a plug between the ecu and the firewall that im not sure what to do with. i've been told in just an interface that i can do without....and i've also been told it has to do with the Auto transmission and i need it.......has anyone come across this if so what did u do........plz help

and did u keep auto transmission? if so, is the tcu plugged in??

yeah i kept the auto transmission and the tcu is plugged in

then it can't be the tcu plug! hehe. consult port? I don't remember where those were located but that could very well be it.

Picture will clear everything up.

hmm, between the ecu and firewall... so it doesn't pass *through* the firewall, right? And it's on the passenger side? If it's a brown-ish color it's for the dash harness, that's attached a few inches above the ECU to some sheet metal. Other than that, the only other modules on that side are the cruise-control unit(and a relay IIRC), the A/T module, and a door lock timer.

I don't believe it's the consult plug, unless it's really long(enough to reach the driver-side).
