I bought a torn down KA24DE and am slowly putting it back together. I've come across 2 solid metal pins that I have no idea what they go to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In this picture they are next to the hollow alignment dowel pin for the cylinder head.

:) I appreciate the response, unfortunately I can't find a place for them between the cylinder head and block. The 2 hollow dowel pins go in 2 of the cylinder head bolt holes like they should.

Where do the solid pins go?
Do they even go between the head and block?

I took a look at the block and I do see a similar pin above the flywheel side freeze plug. It's thinner though and, well, it's already there!

I'm still clueless :/

not really sure what the solid ones are for.

It's been a while since I've taken the head off my KA, haha.

So far the closest thing I can find to fitting these pins is the hole near the flywheel for the transmission bell housing but that's still only 1 hole. I think what I'll need to do is visit a junkyard and strip down and old KA DOHC until I figure out where they go.

After many hours searching the web and service manuals and pictures and forums and everything else I could think of I came across a single clue to what these could be. Part 11021A at nissanpartszone. There is a channel that goes straight through the block. Originally I found a hole the exact size where one of these would fit. Since the oil pump was installed I didn't notice that on the other side of the block was another hole. With the timing cover off I can look straight through the block and see out the other side. This seems to be either a coolant channel and these are freeze plugs or an oil channel. Either way, this is the only place I can figure they go and in every other picture I can find of a KA24DE - the holes are plugged!

Here is the part : 11021A 240SX PLUG-TAPER

NOOOOOO!!! if I'm not mistaken that is the passage that goes from the oil pump to the filter!! If you plug that , oil can't get to the filter housing from the oil pump. I can't see the last 4 pics thou. There is a special open dowel with a built in o-ring that goes there.
