ka24de motor swap

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Anyone done a ka24de swap before?? My motor broke down and i'm putting a new one in. I want the instuctions on how i could do this.

Welcome to NICO.

First, what car are you putting this KA in?

If you're talking about replacing an E with a DE, yes there is a load of info on this site about it. Click the SEARCH button in the upper right hand corner of the window, and look it up.

Or did your old DE break, and you are putting in a different one? That is easy, and you're probably gonna get the best directions from a factory service manual. You can search for that too, there is one you can download in PDF format instead of paying for one.

Every swap you can think of has been done by someone here - CA, RB, SR, even an LS1. The search button is your best friend here.

I'm trying to replace my ka24de with another ka24de. Do you have any idea how i can do this?

If you have the knowledge and resources it isn't hard at all. If not, I would take it to a shop and get them to do it.

This is basically what is in the Chilton manual (I recommend either getting on of these or the FSM before doing it)-

-Drain all fluids, and release the fuel pressure.-Disconnect and remove battery.-Remove radiator, intake, clutch fan.-Disconnect all electrical connections, cables, and hoses.-Remove driveshaft.-Remove exhaust from the converter back.-Unbolt front engine mounts, remove engine/transmission.

Then do everything in reverse to put it back in.
