ka24de motor oil?

I just bought myself a nissan 240sx with a ka24de motor (nice little 19th bday present for myself = D). but anyways it needs an oil change pretty bad and i was wondering what kind of oil you guys use. 5w30? 10w30? (i live in michigan btw) and how much oil? i tried lookin for this info on the forums already through the search bar but couldnt find anything and tried google too, didnt find anything. Thanks oh and btw names ryan just joined the forums = D.

mm the motor not too positive, i bought it used and the guy said around 75k.

under the hood there should be a chart that shows the weather ranged....You can use any oil in that range and it shouldn't be a problem...obviously the colder it is when your starting the car the thinner you want the oil so it will still flow... Thinner oil is generaly better to a point but as engines get older they like thicker oils to take up some of the looseness.I usualy use a 10W40, but it doesn't get cold here...

thx for the tips on the oil but i already knew that part... should have clarified that in my first post it was probably a little missleading to what i needed to know... i just need to know how much oil to put in my ka24de... dont wanna underfill but dont wanna overfill either both = bad results = /

check the dip stick when u fill it up...it should be like four quarts of oil...u should just 10w30...

download the FSM it has all the specification for the car in it...and isn't it more like 2.5 quarts of oil not 4?

the FSM say 3.** with out oil filter and 4 with the oilfilter.
