Greetings Fellow Nicousers! I just wanted some advice about what to upgrade for a smoother engine. I'm not necessarily looking for more power in any kind of way. My goal is to have a long lasting engine. Just to last me until the end of this year for a SR20 swap. I have a 92' 240SX Hatch with a supposedly "Rebuilt KA24DE Engine with 88K" on it. Is there any certain areas in the engine that I should swap out for a smoother ride? Anything from timing belts, to pulleys, to headers, to cams? Anything. I'm looking for many inputs to build up and maintain a decent running 240. All replies are more than welcome here, so don't hold your typing back.

Well, if it is a rebuilt KA24DE with only 88,000 on the motor, it should last you till the end of the year. Just make sure your timing is right (20 BTDC), make sure you keep it clean with new spark plugs, wires, oil, filters, etc...

But to answer your questions:The KA does not use a timing belt, it has a chain, not much you can do there unless it is broken.

Pulleys won't make it run smoother it's more of a performance thing..and there is no significant gain in power.

A header is useless because the stock KA header is already a 4-2-1 design.

Cams won't make it run smoother, but they will make it more fun

Oh, and make sure to only use GL4 75w90 in your transmission.

Yeah, I'm 100 percent positive that it'll last me till the end of this year. I've been keeping it very well maintained and clean. Oil changes, and other things as well. I appreciate your input very much. Shout out to Stryfe.
