Well ive been having this problem for a month or so and have tried multiple things and asked multiple professionals, but they all are unable to give me an answer. So basically i just got done replacing my head gasket and head a few months ago and this problem didnt occur till afterwards.

This problem i am having is not the cam timing or a bent valve because it isn't happening all the time, it is random. Everytime a let of the throttle my engine misfires for like 3 to 6 seconds and sometimes longer or sometimes not at all. I have done a compression test just to eliminate a bent valve or a bad ring and it came up as 180psi being the highest and 173psi being the lowest so not to bad there. I have switched out my knock sensor with a new one, Ive changed my plugs, and i've fiddle with my distributor timing. It runs pretty rich and my plugs look a wee bit black. When my shop teacher had it he mentioned that my crank angle sensor was pulling a code. Could this be my problem if so where is it located because i have looked on the web and found no such pictures of its location?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i am guessing no one has a good indication to what my problem is? Or maybe i didnt make my description very understandable.

A couple things come to mind since it acts up intermittently on decel. Most common ones are:
1.A sticking EGR valve (if it has one).
2.Running too rich on decel can cause the engine to stumble. CAS (cam angle sensor) can cause this if it isn't properly sychronized/timed.
3.I believe the CAS is part of the distributor assembally. I assume that you removed it during your head gasket change. It is highly possible that you have that timing for the distributor set incorrectly. Recheck and verify proper timing, because thiis is probably causing your issue.

Good luck,
