I'm talking about stock stock cams, as in 240/248 no dual exhaust stuff.
When I replaced the head, I made quadruple sure I set everything back to their original positions... and it's slow as crap the other night a punk from outta town with a prelude (cold air intake, header, exhaust) hung with me.. I know you guys don't really know my 240.. but that's not supposed to happen!
Anyways, I'm seriously thinking about setting my intake cam up like it was before the head went. My buddy's stock sr was just barely crawling away from me whilst I had that setup..
The exhaust cam was stock, in the stock position. The intake (240, stock cam) was CCW about 2 teeth..?? and timing at the dist. was at 17btdc. Now, I don't know how much better it would've ran at 20btdc, but it was nice.
There's no reason why this wouldn't work, let alone hurt anything, I think. I did the dual exhaust cam swap a long while back and put in the stock position, I didn't rotate it 4 teeth CCW like everyone said because I was a dumbass, but still after thousands of miles driven like that, it didn't hurt anything. The stock intake is even less aggressive than the exh. cam I used so if I put my stock intake cam CCW 2 teeth, compared to having the exhaust cam off by 4 teeth shouldn't be any issues with it..imo
Sorry if some that didn't seem clear, this is like the only time I get to get on the comp after school, work, and work, so bare with me.
..used to be.. nothing that I raced would beat me... an n/a honda!? can't have that haha
