Yes, I did a search and found nothing, so I'm not sure how many times this topic has come up. Anyway, is it bigger then a stock ca18det maf?

KA24E reads same flow but is larger diameter for less restriction; KA24DE would require a reprogram and I'm not sure how much more flow it'd ready, but certainly not worth the cost of a reprogram (AFAIK the VQ map for it isn't a known entity that you can just use in the RomEdit program, so presumably only someplace like JWT could tune it for the KADE MAF)

yeah, if you want a larger maf, i would go with a z32 or q45 maf. might as well not have to reprogram for a new maf more than once..

Reason why I'm asking is 'cause I was just gonna reuse my stock ka24de MAF. I see ca18det maf's on ebay for cheap. A z32 or q45 MAF is for future considerations, but for now it's budget orientated lol cheapa$$

EDIT: So I'd have to reprogram my stock MAF to make it work? If that's the case, I'll just get the ca18det MAF (Remember, budget orientated...for now). Is the ca18de MAF the same thing as the det?

i dont think so. youll want the ca18et or the det i believe. you could also use a ka24e maf. ive got a ca18det and a ka24e maf if you want either of them.. unfortunately i dont know when i would be able to ship one out to you as im currently 250miles from my car..

and you dont reprogram the MAF, you reprogram the ecu FOR the MAf. the maf itself cant be reprogrammed.

I'll just go to a junkyard or on ebay to find a ka24e maf. So will the male harness leading from the ecu fit onto the ka24e's 3-pin female connector? Or will there be one blank pin on the female connector?

Neither, you'll have to either solder directly to the MAF or get a connector to fit; try to see if the yards still have the harnesses on the car and if so you can just snatch it with a few inches of wire and hack it on.

ok about the whole 3 wire to 4 wire thing, my ca harness is 4 wire, my sohc wiring is 3 wire, so what 3 wires do i use from the ca18 wiring? ive looked at the fsm and saw the ecu pins each wire goes to. it looks like they made 3 and 4 wire versions of the ca18 maf. but im still not sure which wires to accually use. any help from anyone that has accually done this would be appreciated.
