I have never built am inport so i thought i would start off with a hard one. i have 240sx with a ka24de with a complet rebuild, header, full 3 inch exhaust, no egr, cold air intake, ho heat riser. It runs great with the maf sensor unpluged but wont rev over 2500 rpm, i can plug it in, it doestnt edle very well at all but lots of top end, someone help, or should i pull the motor and put a ls1 in, but there goes the inport

I've been having similar problems. But I think my idle just "seems" smoother with the MAF unplugged because of higher idle rpms. Always a pronounced fuel smell in the exhaust, and a "putt-putt" from the muffler. Engine shakes pretty good. Reduced power and stumbling are present until the throttle is wide open. Spark is good on all 4, injectors are ticking when audibly inspected. I changed a slew of small parts already. Sound like you?
Just my opinion, stay true to the platform. Defeat it's challenges, and then create your own vision. An LS1 would be a sweet a** swap. Lots of power and cheaper engine parts! But the learning experience shouldn't be missed. Although your swap will come with plenty of "lessions". Whatever your choice, I'd like to hear how it turns out. Be sure to let me know about the KA should you go the way of the LS1. I could use a standby to build! Good luck.
