Thats the gist of it. If it idles better or the same then the MAFS is most likely bad. If it idles worse then most likely the MAFS is still doing its job. Just be sure to turn the car off before you plug the MAFS back in, I've heard that can cause issues. Well, it was either that or the TPS, I cant remember.
