ok guys my engine started making a nasty noise which is driving me crazy!!! I just cant pin point what or where is the noise coming from! so here's the vid of my car making the noise

so what you guys think it is?? do I need a new engine cause I have money in hand and will probably buy this week!

sounds like a spun bearing, you should be able to hear it between 2.5k-3.5k rpm, or maybe its just low on oil.

if you can get a new engine I would do that now and rebuild it for the project. Even with the noise your car is making if it can last for a while then you can get the other motor installed. then you can break it open and check it out.

if you really want to know what it is get a long tube or pipe put it to your ear and move the other side around the block. you will find the sound and know where its coming from. I think it sounds like a really off timing chain, but its hard to say. you have to pin point where its coming from to know.

the sound started a month after the 248/232 cam install I did pull the valve cover off last week and notice the intake cam was a little off when ever I would set the engine at TDC but I didn't make much of it because my car is and was running very strong, and I thought that if the chain would of skipped a tooth I would lose all the power and the engine would run rough so I ruled it out.

still open for sum more suggestions.

tomorrow I will retard the cam(intake) 1 tooth to see if that could be my problem.

checked the oil? if you still have the undercarriage cover you prolly can't notice that the engine might be leakin oil and so you could be low, just 1 of those things to rule out.(happened to a friend, he didn't know the engine was leakin oil cause it was bein trapped by the cover, later on the engine got rod knock due to bein starved of oil)

ive checked and it has oil in the engine,even though it does leak I was not able change my cam due to the rain we have been having here in alabama.

My engine had a similar knock that developed after a friend of mine driving my car got it in 3rd gear from the top of 4th gear. The engine reved high fast and violent. A few months later of just turning it on driving down the block to keep anything from siezing up the engine locked up and has done nothing since. I would take that knock very serious if I was you.

will do am going to buy a new used ka tomorow,I though my cam was off by one tooth which it was and I fixed it and now its much much worst it does it during idle now,which is good because I have all the stuff to put inn my t25 this week too.

sounds like a rod bearing, main bearings are usually more solid sounding.
