the past couple days my motor started knocking... it was a tad low on oil as i was at the end of an oil cycle, and just did an oil change.. (the level was just above the L... not too too low)

anyway my knock has gotten worse and i think i may have some bearing damage. I am set up right now to drop the oil pan and investigate... if something is visibly wrong, i will be swapping rod bearing or w/e is wrong with the motor in the car... idk if anyone has done this before, but i searched and didnt see anything.

I WILL be dropping the front crossmember so i have easy access to everything, and so i can install and seal the oil pan properly with eaz....

any one have any suggestions or tips?

im gonna go start removing the oil pan, via steps from my FSM...

wish me luck, and keep you fingers crossed that this KA is savable...

do you have any idea how it started knocking? did it just decide to give up on you just like that? and how many kms on the engine?

well theres about 80,000 miles on it. i swapped it in, it was leaking oil from the oil pan, and the oil level must have gotten a little too low for a little too long, and i believe it developed the knock from running on low oil.
