I'm working on a KA24DE conversion into my '85 Nissan 720 truck right now (I previously had swapped a KA24E version into it), but it is very similar to what you will encounter in the Hardbody conversion since I did use a '95 Hardbody wiring harness in my E conversion, and with a few changes I will also use it for the DE conversion as well.
One vital thing that I have to point out to you, and that is that you HAVE to use a Frontier DE engine for the Hardbody conversion because the truck DE block has the required rear sump oil pan that will fit into that chassis and clear the steering linkage (a 240SX version will NOT work because of the front sump design...which includes the timing chain cover). You can swap the 240SX intake system onto the Frontier engine, but the power steering bracket will have to be cut off at the back to clear, and the ECU coolant temp sensor and coolant temp gauge sender have to be relocated to the top side of the intake manifold to clear the power steering pump itself. Also a very complicated custom intake tube will be required to be made to clear the power steering pump (I made mine out of 2 3/4" mandrel bend exhaust tubing that I later had CAD plated...fits like a glove in the very tight installation that the 720 is, but the Hardbody has way more room in it than my 720 pickup!!).
