I'm going to be putting a s13 ka in my datsun and am removing all the unnecessary connections from the intake. I searched and only really came up with info for egr removal. My question is what function does the section in the picture serve.

Nm figured out its the pcv valve. Guess I'll keep this on.

It wouldn't hurt to clean out the PCV manifold, though, to make sure it isn't clogged with oily gunk.

Yeah, thinking I'll clean that up and vent it to atmosphere, then weld the bungs on the intake closed, and remove the butterfly valves.

Rather then start a new thread I thought I'd continue this one, does anyone see a problem with running the pcv line to a catch can and then to the brake booster outlet for vacuum. As my datsun doesn't have a brake booster I thought this might be a good compromise for ditching the tree under the intake.

The problem I see with that is: With the stock setup each runner gets its own share of the PCV gasses, and with the brake booster source they might not, but I'm not too familiar with the DE induction setup as I have a truck E.

Yeah I actually thought of that too, using that spot would mean cylinder 4 would get be getting the majority of it, but I wasn't sure how much gas there really was. After seeing the crud build up, just trying to figure out a diff way of doing things, maybe stock is the best way of doing it.
