What is the best intake and exhaust for the KA24DE on either the 91-94 S13 and/or the 95 S14 when your shooting for low-mid range power and/or mid-high range power?

Also, Heard the 3" tip is a good size, whats a good size for the piping on the KA?

the size of the tip means nothing performance-wise. 3" piping is the best for the most power, and it has no losses over stock.

Yeah, tip size, as long as it is not smaller than the piping(duh) will have no effect on power. I used to think that 3" was way too huge for a NA motor, but apparently for the 240, it is the best thing. Just realize that larger piping will be louder, straight through mufflers are louder, but provide no restriction, and dont remove the cat, or else you will be looking at some losses. As far as intake, aem and injen are both good. Find em both on ebay. Dont go for a no-name brand though, they have crappy bends, poor fitment.

good luck!

if your n/a 2.5 would be better...as for an intake look at either injen or aem

No. You fail at life. There are numerous 3" exhaust NA dynos producing more gains(14whp, anyone?) and no losses.

God, does EVERY exhaust thread have to turn in to this damn arguement? It's like everyone is trolling for another damn squabble.

it's not even an argument, that's the point. There are multiple dyno proofs, what more do you want?

I don't know. Maybe all new posts with the "what," "size," and "exhaust" should all be blocked...It's just a bit out of hand...

If they are both making gains....and from the sounds of it they are, it shouldn't be such a big debate, as long as both are making power, if you have plans on forced induction everyone i've talked to says go with the 3", if your just gonna do soem minor bolt ons eitehr a 3 or a 2.5 will do, they'll both gain power, a 3 will sound louder, so it comes down to personal preference.

the 3" makes more power though, that's the point...

but the 2.5 is not losing power, which is my point they both have positive results, if he's really hell bent on gaining as much as he can then sure go with the three, if he just wants some power and doesn't want it to be really loud go with the 2.5, comes down to personal preference no matter which gains more.
