kA24DE Installation question...

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I just bought a 95 KA24DE engine, transmission and ECU for my 90 240. I already have the DE gauge cluster because I currently have a DE in my car from a 93, I am pulling it out to work on it. Are there a difference in parts that I am going to need to change or get?

difference in parts for what? as long as you have the DOHC tach, ECU, harness and motor, youll be fine.

Nope, you won't need anything different. Just MAKE SURE you use the 93 harness when hooking up the motor/ecu. You'll be in great shape. Good luck!

so frap, what you saying, is if i wanted to change my e for a de, and use a 95+ engine, the swap would be the same as doing a de swap using a 91-94 engine? (just my engine will be obd2?)

If you use the 93 harness it will still be obd 1...the engine it self doesnt really determin that, the sensors strapped on to it do.

Hold on a sec, you will need to swap the S13 sensors onto the S14 intake manifold or otherwise swap the S13 intake mainfold onto the S14 motor because some of the plugs wont match. There are a few other small issues as well that need to be addressed that you can use the search function for. zerosearch

Have any of you other guys actually done this swap before?

Looks like I have all the parts! All I need to do is swap the distributer and Intake manifold.

Oh Ya... one more question. Why do you have to change the 95 manifold to a 93 manifold???
