I bought a 89 240 for a good deal. Engine is blown but not a big deal. I picked up a ka24de from a friend and it come complete with engine, light wight fly wheel, centerfoce cluch, transmission, ecm, mass air flow, and possibly cold are intake. Now i have looked at both wirring diagram and most of it is the same. It looks like I would have to change a couple pins around on the 89 harnest and run some wires. I was just wanting to know if there is anything I should look out for ? thanx.

Im pretty sure you have to use the entire ka24de harness. Well you dont need all of it but it would be easier just to swap it most likely. Cause you will need the ka24de ECU and harness to connect to the sensors on the de for the dual cams. Not for sure but I believe so.

then i would run in to a problem with the tack. I checked the pin configeration on the two and the de has for more pins but the major components and sensors have the same configeration. The only thing I was thinking of doing was splicing in an obd1 conector which is duable I checked, and then slpicing any of the conectors that are needed. So basicly making one harnest from two. but using the 89 harnet as the main.what do you guys think?

Thanx for the reply slo40:)

You need to use the entire DE harness.

I'm sure it's possible to splice the harnesses together, but I think that you'd have an easier time with the swap if you just used the DE harness and tach. About the tach... a 91-94 tach will mount in the same place as the 89 tach, though it's a few mm larger (it's barely noticeable.)

I hope this helps and good luck!

im doing the same thing,i got an 89 with a bad motor but sweet body for $100,then i got a nice DE for $300 but the harness has been hacked off,so i found a newer 240sx at the auto yard and got the entire harness and ECU for $150,i had to take it out myself but that gives you the license to steal!i popped off the little nissan emblem, he he.anyway, the ECU is in the passenger side kick panel, its the biggest box, there are two smaller ones but i dont know what they are or if i need them.anyone know for sure?i then unplugged every thing that was connected and pulled it through the firewall which took forever cuz you gotta wiggle it out where the harness gets fatter.there was another thread on here where a couple people say that they needed to splice some wires and sort of described it.i got the whole harness so i hope im not going to have to cut anything just plug and play.any input on this would be great!
