ka24de idler sprocket size for heli coil

i've searched many forums and sites but i cant find the exact size for the idler sprocket bolt. i acidently stripped the threads from the head and im going to heli coil it but i dont know the size for it. all i know is its a metric bolt size 12 but by what? i tried a M12 X 1.75 from napa and the bolt will get stuck in the heli coil about 1/4 way through. so im guessing its either a M12 X 1.50 or M12 X 1.25. these things are expensive but i need it soon. which is it?

I did the same thing lol. I can't remember what size of hellicoil I was going to use, but I ended up just getting a longer bolt and using that. The threads go way in there, further than the stock size bolt can even reach.

Why didn't you take the bolt to napa and find a nut (or ask them the size) that fit it in the first place?

I would just buy a bolt to the same size you helicoiled to (m12x1.75). Unless it's a special bolt*i have no idea wtf an idler sproket on a KA looks like*

A *x1.75 and *x1.50 might require a different drill size, you might run into problems if you try and go to 1.50. (not 100% sure)

My friend just stripped his and we had to have it drilled and coiled. Its a M12x1.25

thanks for all the replies. ill give the X 1.25 a try. btw, the Napa i went to doesnt have the m12X1.25 in their inventory and catalog but they have all the other sizes.

Do you remember what size drill bit you used and what size tap you used? I didnt buy the kit, only the inserts so now i need to find out what size drill bit and tap to use... and i cant find this info ANYWHERE online...
