KA24DE Idle problem

I have a 92 240sx w/ a ka24de and I am having an idle problem. I just did a head gasket on it and i can't get the timing set because of the idle surging. I made sure that all of the vacuum lines were attached, so I'm pretty sure that it isn't a vacuum leak. What I really need to know is how to adjust the idle.

Air idle control valve is a big problem with the KA check it to see if it is bad.Also did you do the timing chain wile you had the head off.

how do u tell if its bad ? cause mine doesnt seem to change the idle at all if i turn it.

is it hard to replace as well?

look near the rear of your intake manifold on the top section on the passanger side should be a phillips head srew on the side. Turn the screw.

i've tried that and it does nothing to the idle.
