I am a 17 year old looking for a ka24DE 240sx...my budget is around 2grand to 2 1/2 grand...what should i be looking for...i know to score a deal like this i will have to act fast...and the owner cant know what he/she has...what should i look for in milage and if the engine is in diecnet shape...also i was wondering if this motor also came in the convertables...i would prefer to have a hatchback to a convertable or coupe but for 2k i cant be picky...any suggestions?thanks

PS: the main reason i want a DE is ebcause of the Dohc are there any other good mtors in 240's that are fairly priced but stilll give good power...

Only 93's come in convertible format, and only in auto.

You can pick up a nice 240sx S13 anywhere from 1k to 5k, depending on where you live. If in southern California, GOOD LUCK, as even the crappiest 240sx go for 3k.

Anyhow, look for the timing chain rattle, rust underneath the car, oil leaks, body condition, modifications, etc.

Good luck finding a good one!

...and 1994's....they were ALL 'Verts...which ONLY come with an auto trans.

1993 you could have coupe, hatchback, or convertible.

...

And search the classifieds on FreshAlloy.com, here on NICO, and also on Zilvia.net...but AutoTrader is your best bet.

My recommendation is.Buy a 240 that has a blown HG but has 5spd.Then get the engine rebuilt.I bought my shell for 600 and sure you can rebuild the engine for 1400 or close to it.If it's a headgasket you can do yourself for cheap.
