I have an old KA24DE head from a 92 S13. The valves, springs and retainers are a bit rusty since they've been exposed to the weather prior to my acquisition. Now, I want to clean it up and get it ported and polished. Before the PnP (Port and Polish), how should I begin to clean it up? Is this something I can do myself with a large tub and some automotive solvent or am I better off taking this to a shop?
Please advise.
