How much air in cfm does the stock head flow? Also, at what point (hp) does the stock head casting stop you from making more power. How much do most people make before they before they hit a brick wall and have to get head work?

From what I read about the ka head, the intake side is decent, it's the exhaust side that is a poor design. Turbo magazine did a 700+hp build and went over all of the flaws of the head. I was just curious about what people can do with the stock casting.

thanks

Turbo Mag is the last place I'd take tuning tips from...I've read that mag for years and have seen them do plenty of stuff wrong, their best work is usually done by someone else

The stock head will flow well enough to max out the internals. If you're going forged and want more then 500, get a good CNC done with a set of cams and you'll be more then good.

Noone even mentioned the word tuning. I was asking about head flow. As for my motor, it will get b.c. 272's and the bottom end is already built, I just gotta get a few small things before it goes back in the car.

Sorry, I was referring to tuning as a the entire process. My opinion of turbo is just bad...across the board.
