Hey Guys, I was looking into buying an s13 coupe. The car looks good but the dude who owns it said that he stripped a few of the bolts when reattaching the intake plenium. I was wondering is the KA24DE head aluminum or cast iron because i wanted to know what kind of trouble i was going to go through to get the holes retapped. Also if anyone knows how much i would look at spending it would be greatly appriciated. Sorry if my question has been answered already I seached but i could not find a specific enough answer. -Dustin

Thanks alot for the answer. May ask why you would suggest not to buy it? Is the head super hard to work on or something or is it just not worth the cash?-Dustin

Well, first, how much is he asking?Second, you can buy a whole KA rather cheap..like around 400.For exampleIf you take it to a machine shop and they charge you 100 bucks, and the head cost you 150. You are out 250. Which is no longer a deal.Ask him if you can take it to a machine shop and get an estimate, then bargain with the cost it will take you to make it operational

The whole car for 900? Buy it if theres no rust. You could probably find a better deal. But why wait.

My dad said that we could just use some helicoils to fix it but we were thinking if we could get it done a better way then we were gonna do it. The guy hasn't gotten back to me on whether or not it runs but if it does then i'm gonna buy it.-Dustin
