DOes any one know of a place with some info on converting a KA24DE harness to work on an SR20DET? DO the sensor conectors match? I'd prefer not to start from scratch to avoid using mostly the same color wiring through and through but so long as the sensor connectors match I'll make it work. Ignition bits don't match, lots of wires will need to be extended/shortend/removed, any links on some helpful stuff? I know I'm definately needing a dash harness to mate to the ECU but I'm probably running Megasquirt so... yeah.

YES I searched and scoured for info but the only thing I saw was use the SR harness.YES I understand it would be easier to acquire an SR harness but I have the time and the skills to do any wiring necessary and am not afraid of getting heavy in this. Please don't post here recommending to buy a harness 'cause it's easier or will give me peace of mind blah blah.

Thanks for the help.

Short answer, too much work soldering, etc and you have to have the SR harness to get the proper connectors. Some of the connectors match (injectors, oil pressure switch, and a few more i think) up but MOST DO NOT so you would need the SR harness to take MOST of them off and solder onto the KA It really doesn't make any sense why you would want to try and make more work for yourself when you need the SR's harness anyways...I'm the rest of my KA harness that I have left in case I need connectors, etc in the future...just my .02

Sweet, works for me. Thanks for the info. I was hoping there wasn't too much to be sourced from hte SR but I guess not. Thanks again.

Also forgot to add, the KA has a distributor and wires, the SR has ignition coils and therefore there are no connectors for the coils on the KA harness...I don't know of anyway to get around it without buying a harness

I can get my hands on a FWD SR20DET harness pretty cheaply. Does anyone know if that would suffice as a donor? Agian, I'm not afraid of digging deep, I just need to know which connectors I can source from where cheaply.

Does anyone have links to the full diagrams from a few sr20 cars?

if you you want to do this1. get a pin-out for SR20det. 2. take KA harnes apart.3. decide what u are going to do for mising plugs, which shouldnt be too difficult, u need to souce plugs for CAS and Ignitor(u can use Q-45 for this) and coil-packs. 4. make the KA harness match the SR pin-out 5.enjoy.

it will be very time consuming and it will be a HEADACHE, but its doable.

If you’re going to run megasquirt II extra, you don't need the igniter because you can build it into the MS. I'm actually going to be going this route myself but I won't be starting on it for quite a while.

The FWD engines still use a distributor so you won't have the right plug to scavenge from there but you can at least get the rest of the plugs.

It is a lot of work and it's probalby not worth it. I'm doing it because I'm being cheap and it's not going into a 240 anyway.

IIRC Hijacker did this with his SR'd 240 vert. Shoot him an e-mail.
