Hey guys,

Just finished a SOHC to DOHC, the car starts hard when its cold (you have to rapidly tap the throttle to get it started), and then it has a rough idle. Things I've tried:

-Adjusted timing (but it doesn't seem to effect too drastically, even when adjust all the way from one side to the other)-IACV (Cleaned and it starts quicker when cold, but still has problems)

What's been done to the car-The car sat for over a year, so we but fuel treatment and filled it up with premium (There was still about 1/8-1/4 tank of bad fuel-EGR has been removed (the emission stuff just to the right of the exhaust) manifold--The Blue tape is blocking the holes where pictured, one by the intake and the other down by the EGR system.

thanks guys

was the DE a rebuild? if so was the distributer installed correctly with motor at TDC and rotor pointing to #1 plug wire?, how much fuel pressure are you getting with the manifold running? when the car warms up does it idlebetter? what about throttle response? is your alternator putting out corrct voltage? battery charged? MAF cleaned? right gap and spark plugs?did you do the simple research in your chiltons service manual? it has a trouble shooting table that points to alot of these things......

Wow That's a lot of stuff to check...to answer some of your questions:

-After it warms up it runs better and it starts easy. -Throttle response: it stutters for literally half a second and then is normal-The Battery is brand spanking new

...I'll check all of that and go through the fsm troubleshooting tomorrow, Thanks a lot bro.

-Wade.
