use vise grips and pull straight up while slightly twisting. I pulled so many sets this way, and has worked great.

Didn't work for me.I need to see vid of you doign this.Any type of pliers I used would come off. Had to use a big flathead at the back of the injector and tap it with a hammer.

You have to make sure the vise grips are on there tight. Then pull straight up while slightly turning left and right. I pulled so many ka injectors out. I guess you can also buy a special tool i hear.

I always use the flathead screwdriver method. doesn't "chew" on the clips and its effortless.

the flathead method is truely effortless. however, take note that the further down you hit that flathead, the more likley it is to smash/rip an o-ring because of the new angle the injector is put at. a couple taps and a quick pull with a vice grip and your set.

a small flathead on the slots on the injector body have worked best for me. most of the injectors that ive seen people use pliers on have been pretty chewed up.

not mine. the reason they get chewed up is cuz the vise grips are not on tight enough.

r u guys kidding me? put a flathead screwdriver where the angle of the injector meets the rail and turn. It pops right out. REALLY SIMPLE!

I chewed up one injector with vise grips. Went to next injector and they slipped off. Tightened it a bit more and went on to next one. It broke the injector....how tight? first not enough then too much. visegrips+injectors=worst combo ever

I have a spare rail setup in my garage. I'll go pull all 4 injectors out today using 4 different methods and write an article with pics

WD - 'Test' this method.

Align the tab, lip, 'awning', gap, space, ect that you can pry against that these guys are talking about using with the screw driver pop method with the screw hole on the fuel rail. This gives you 10 times more space to pry against.

My method for removing Ka injectors is as follows. Pop off caps. Rotate injectors until the plug of the injector is lined up with one of the two bolt holes, whichever one is easier to get access with with a flathead. Use the extra flatspace given to you by the bolt holes to pry against, and the lip on the injectors and they pop right out. If you use a small screw driver, your injectors barrreeeely take any damage at all.

The vice grip method is great for tearing up injectors, but works fine.

I was just looking at my old fuel rail / injectors. I can't figure out what is so hard about removing these injectors. No I haven't pulled one yet, but I can already see how I want to remove them.

Its not hard at all lol. Its much trickier getting them back in without pinching o-rings, but even thats not really that hard.

Top feed rail is 30 bucks...side feeds are prone to leaks and generally suck the throbbing member IMHO.

Just as i wouldnt run a 30 dollar top mount fuel rail over an OEM rail(free).

I mean ffs, they come from the factory like that and run for 200k+ sometimes, its not THAT bad of a design. Top feed is better IMO, but as long as my freaken motors getting fuel and not leaking it, hey, i could give 2 shts less.

Work with whatever ya got.

Try unpluggin the injector harness, unbolt the rail, start in the front w/ a flat head wiggle and pry (ever so slightly) and the rest should come out just as easy. this is how i did mine.

I use a little bit of wd40 and they slide right out with a flat head under the plug part but mine were bad anyway wd40 could hurt the injector maybe?

Regardless...they are basically free, destroy one or two and you're out nothing. I have lots of extra crap just lying around...I'm one of millions.

That's how I did it. But it's easy for me to visualize because I have done it before. I remember when I did it, I went around in circles before I figured out how to do it.
