how many of you run without the belt driven fan???

i have read that you dont need it and wont have cooling issues without it, because it has the secondary electric fan.

my clutch went out so i need to either buy a new one or take it out, any suggestions mates?

i use elcetric...gettin rid of a clutch or strait mount fan actually gives a few extra HP...drag racers have been using that trick since the 1970's..go electric..

yes but is the stock factory electric enough... or do i have to buy another electric fan. my car has the belt fan, then another electric fan attached to the radiator!

are you talking about that dinky little fan behind the fan shroud? I personally would not. Ive heard some people tell me there's was fine and others tell me their car overheats with just that one. I wouldn't since your OEM temp gauge = crap anyway and by the time it tells you something it's already been too hot for abit.

Advance Auto sells E-fans pretty cheap if you're just looking to save money over the FAL type fans.

you definitly want good electric fans man..and a controller down the line for them..fans run from 35 bucks to an obscean 150 or more a pop...but what ever you do..dont trust the oem fan:)...i would sugest staying with your belt fan for now till you get all the stuff to convert...good luck.

Cheapo fans work fine. I ran one on my ka-t for a long time until i upgraded to a FAL monster. Guess what, they both keep my car cool.

That little secondary electric fan is for your AC, not radiator cooling. DO NOT RELY ON THAT or you will overheat. Replace your belt driven fan with an thermostat controlled electric one and remove the fan clutch. It's good for a few extra ponies.

I've been using just the stock a/c fan for over 7 months now with no problems. I use a direct switch and and my a/c is still supercool. Maybe it's because of my koyo radiator, idk... but, I'm still getting FAL electric fans soon.

^^^^^ Straight up... on my first KA, my fan clutch went out so i had no choice but to switch it to the e-fan for the ac and it worked fine for a long time. i would only recommend doin it but only if you know what you're doin. make sure you have the fan hooked up pulling, and obviously remember to turn it on whenever you start the car
