if u look at the link, this is what my car currently sounds likehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kseETkevAiU

i wanna do a engine rebuild, cause i hear that ka24de engines have alot of potential. but i also dont have the enough budget for thisi was looking towards $500 - 1500. this is my DD car, but also my mess around car. i was wondering which kits below are best recommended. i plan on going boost later on around 8 - 10psi. but for the time being just keep it stock. i currently have the car in a shop right now. they plan on working on my car tomorrow noon time. they quoted me $3k for a full engine rebuild. they didnt tell me exactly what was gonna to be done. but im assuming all INTERNALS new. but $3k is deff not in my budget. thats why i need the best recommended source, that way i can tell them before they start. plz HELP

PSlinks below are engine rebuild kitshttp://www.amsperformance.com/...2_304

Hey Scotty,

It seems like the knocking sound is at the same frequency as crank rotation. This might mean a Rod Knock.....or maybe a piston slapping against a stuck/bent valve?

Rebuilding this motor might or might not be worth it. You have to take into consideration that these motors are fairly cheap to obtain, since people doing SR swaps almost give these away!

So you might want to work on rebuilding a motor that is just plain old and not broken....you won't run into as many problems in doing the work if you take this route.

he's gopt a good point man...buy another ka..have them rebuild that one ..and scrap this one for spar parts..or if its in your budget and your not mechanicly enclined...then id say join the rest and swap a SR..if you can wrench..you can rebuild yourself (stock OEM) for around 500ish for better parts your lookin 1500 ish or more..good luck.
