The other day I tried starting my dual cam after putting it together these last 8 months. First off i bought the car with the cams being removed and the chains. So i put new chains and put the cams back on and new parts. Then i tried cranking the engine and it back fires from the intake adn exhaust. I played with the distributor and it changed up a little but it would keep doing it. What else could it be, Could the cams be backwards or off an s14? My dual cam is an original s13 de. Can anyone help me on this please?

Sounds like your cam timing may be off

Definately. Double check all your timing marks are correct. Wouldnt want to risk bending a valve or something horrendous like that.
