If I'm stating that correctly. Can anyone post a link, where I can view every part of the engine? I was changing my thermostat last nite on a friends car, threading in the bolt and cracked of a piece of metal (within tha thermstat housing, need to know what part this is). Of 3 bolts, 2 located on top and one on tha bottom, its tha one on tha bottom. The part it screwed onto was connected to a rubber hose and a clamp in the back, also connected to tha block on its side. Piece is rusted, which he was over heating for a week. Sucks

Any help please?

Thanks

just take out one of the good bolts, go to ace hardware or some other hardware store, and match up!

But if you really want a part #, check out http://www.carfiche.com - takes a little getting used to, but will give you the part # - once you have that, either go dealer or check out midway (below - probably not cheaper w/ shipping but if you buy other stuff may work out good).

Tha bolt did not break. Its the thermostat housing: tha bottom piece where the bolt goes into broke off, needing a whole new piece. But once again, I dont know what that part is. Thus needing pictures to identify it?............

Ok, I wasn't reading too clearly then, but you should have read the rest of what I said:

Also, taking a picture of what you are talking about may help a little.

What it "might" be is the thermostat itself?

Because it goes hose->thermostat housing->thermostat->block.

So if you broke something metal, it's either the housing or the thermo.

thanks dood, its definitely not the thermostat itself, the housing (thick metal). I'm checking it out now.

If it's the thermostat housing, you could have just asked for a part # for that

not part #, but direct link:http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?actio...
