I have a 90 240 hatch and i am in the process of swapping the ka24de in. The dohc came with the wiring harness and also the body wiring harness that run throughout the front half of the car. The original body wiring harness was cut and spliced so bad that i decided to swap it out with the dohc one. MOST everything mated up EXCEPT a plug on the ignition and then two plugs coming through the passenger side firewall that connect to some boxes. My question is...Can i make this work??? Can i swap in a dohc igniton? Can i cut and splice anything? Can i buy the boxes under the dash? Anyone know what those boxes are? Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Meeko

You should use the DOHC ignition, the DOHC ECU and the DOHC MAF.

I have the ECU and MAF I found an ignition for $65 but I dont have the opportunity to look at it. Will the old one unplug and the new one plug right in or will it take a little bit more than that? Thanks for the input!

The new DOHC ignition should plug right in since the harness is also for the DOHC. Here's some more info:

Wiring:1. Locate the body harness (under dash harness that attached to the ECU) that attached to your old harness. Cut the old connector off (the one that attached to your SOHC harness) and attach your DOHC body harness connector. Just match the colors!Yellow/Red --TachYellow/Green--SpeedometorOrange--Ignition startBlack---GroundBlue/Black---Water temp sensor

There will be some wires left over. These are for the SOHC's diagnostic plug, and are unnecessary. Please note: Your car will NOT be able to hook up to a CONSULT tool.2. Use a soldering iron to splice the wires together. It makes for a much cleaner job, and a cleaner electrical signal.3. You need to swap out your tach if you want one that works. No wiring is involved, but it must be done. Simply pull your gauge cluster and remove the three screws behind the tach. Lift and separate. Replace.

One more question for everybody... On the passenger side of the firewall, there are two wires that come from under the fender and go up under the dash, i am assuming that they plug in to some kind of computer, box, module, thing??? Anyways, i need those two boxes. If anyone knows the serial number or part number or any kind of identification, it would be awesome.ThanksMeeko
