About a year ago I saw that one of the sponsors of the forum had an emissions delete kit for a ka24de. However, after much searching I cannot figure out where I saw the kit or the specific name of it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I don't know about this kit, but all you need is an EGR blockoff plate and a couple vacuum plugs.

Which emission components are you planning on deleting?

My initial thought is all of it must go unless someone can give a compelling reason why it shouldn't. I do not have emissions where I am at and this is not my daily driver.

The EGR plate is one part that I need. The kit that I was referring to is to block off all of the pressure valves near the firewall on the passenger side. I can't find my manual to give you the correct name at the moment. Once I find my manual I can expand with specifics.

If the pressure valves you are talking about are the plate of vacuum lines, you can disconnect the sensors and pull the plate off. Here's a pic of that plate I'm talking about:

If it's not what you're talking about then I'll wait until you get the names.

Speaking of this plate, it's got the control for the SCV, or Swirl Control Valve. These are the secondary butterflies. You can either leave the line unhooked and leave the valves open, or remove them. There are a few write ups on this forum on how that's done if you're interested. An S14 upper intake manifold is also a bolt-in replacement without the SCV.

As for the EGR, BPT, Charcoal Canister and PAIR/AIV you can pull those all and plug any remaining vac lines. Be sure also to order a pair of exhaust manifold plugs for the holes left by the EGR and PAIR/AIV lines. Get 2 of these: http://www.courtesyparts.com/M..._Code=

That plate is part of it. Sorry, I still haven't found my manual which is irritating.

Two hoses on that plate go to what looks like two pressure valves which are bolted on to the intake manifold. When you remove these they leave two holes in the manifold. At one point I saw a kit that came with two oval shaped aluminum plates made to cover the holes.

You can find the EGR plate on ebay. Just pull off ALL vaccume lines except Brake Booster, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Top and Bottom PCV hoses.

The places you need to plug are the EGR return line on exhaust and intake manifold, the line to the canister near the throttle body (use a screw-in rubber stopper from autostores), vaccume line next to the MAFS and the small vaccume line next to the idle control air line.Remove all components except the fuel pressure regulator. You can remove the butterfly valves and plug the holes with JB Weld.

Remember for OBDII cars you will need to do the resistor trick as it reads a temperature there.

If you can live with a CEL then you don't need to do anything. Supposedly this code doesn't fire a limp mode or anything.

I debated doing this, but the gains are so little. If one wanted a show car though with a really neat engine bay then pulling all this crap does clean up the clutter.

I guess that is the next question. What are the gains? I mainly wanted to clean up the engine bay, maybe make everything easier to work on and get to. What other gains do you think there are from doing this?

for the two holes left on the exhaust i used the same screw i just cut the metal line from the egr and welded a lil plate on the back so its like a capped plug (weld's on the inside of the screw) so all u have to do is grind the excess and it worked great i did that on both "just a lil tip u can do"..i just did all that all i got left is one screw on the plate in back of the head but its a total pain but yea man try that i dont have pic's cuz there on already
