Just registered on here but long time spectator, you could say. I searched for a common problem, no luck, so please do not start shouting about the search button. I took off the IACV and cleaned it out nice, gave it a new gasket, proper re installment. Idles better, when it wants. If i do not give it any throttle in neutral, it dies. Stalls. Nothing. I can drive it, but i can not let off the throttle. I am running rich, but my plugs are not fouled or anything. I have the EGR blocked off, and the car drives fine other than the hesitation for acceleration at odd points of RPMs. It also throttles itself. It decides to keep a constant throttle when i let off the gas pedal to shift and finnaly drops when i get into a higher gear. It may be a vaccum leak from when i was fishing around back there with the IACV. Im getting more throttle/carb cleaner tommorow and see if the rpms raise themselves. Please, i need help. This is my daily and my project car. I cleaned the MAF and it does rev above 2500 :wtf2:

This symptom is classic MAF either failed or disconnected or power/ground missing from it . Pull the codes and see what you get . Is this a s13 or 14. Have you double checked to make sure you rebolted all of the grounds to the engine? Also you said you messed with the EGR delete. How much did you take out? I had an S13, when I did the EGR delete I had to raise the throttle a bit to keep the car running. I doubt you have a vacuum leak unless you messed with the flaps in the runners and that jazz, even so it's usually a simple fix. Keep me posted.

So i should check the MAF wiring and ground? I took the maf off (disconected and idled at 800rpm but blew white smoke everywhere. My car doesnt overheat or leak coolent, has a solid head gasket and there is no moisture in the head. I dont beleieve i have a cracked head or block either. It is a s13 and im not sure

My only confussion would be, if it was the MAF Wouldnt it cut my rpms at 2500-3000? It revs all the way. Like i said, i disconected MAF and it idled fine but would pour white smoke. Im still leaning towards o2, tps, or vaccum
