ka24de cylinder 3 does not reach top completely

this maybe correct but im not sure. i have googled this and can not find any anwsers to this. all my cylinders will completely reach the top of the block but the third one. is this normal?

no. i have just ran into this. im installing new piston rings and i notice this when putting it all back together. my camera is not set properly for the todays date. i never use it because of the horrible picture quality.

If there is no knocking then the rod is guaranteed to be bent... unless you somehow got a single piston for a stroker motor with the wrist pin slightly higher up on the piston.

This is HIGHLY unlikely... your rod is 99% probably bent.

ok thanks everyone for the input. I called around and didn't find any 240's around the area so i called Nissan to verify that the Altima had the same exact internals. I headed down to the junk yard and pulled out the freakin rod out and it was a PITA! but anyways all is good and now back on track.
