To start, I got a S13 shell and I dropped a KA24DE in it. At first the engine wouldn't crank over. Thought it was a bad starter, but it ended up being a grounding problem. Ran a ground from the engine to the body and it turns over fine.

Then the fuel pump was not coming on. I pulled it and tested it, to which it ran fine. Found out that the ECU wasn't grounded well enough; grounded that and fuel pump runs.

So; compression is fine, fuel is getting to engine, yet it still wont fire. Haven't tested the for spark but I'll get to that today.

What could be the problem other than if it wasn't getting spark? And how would I go about fixing that?

Thanks

Just tested for spark. I took a the plug out from the 1st Cylinder, put in on a plug, and turned the motor over. Tried valve cover and the body but couldn't get a spark. What should I do from this point? Thanks!

if you have no spark at this point...then you need to test the coil..and test to see if the coil is getting juce..that should get ya started in the rite direction..good luck.

I measured 12 volts at the 3 prong cable that plugs into the ignition coil. Made sure it is bolted down good, and still no spark. What could the problem be?

Friend of mine had the exact same problem when we put his VG30E in the Z. We were absolutely confuzzled. Never found the answer, just pulled the harness and double checked everything, put it back in and it ran.
