Hi, I'm wondering what could cause a problem a engine not starting. I am getting fuel and spark. Its sounds like it wants to start but something is stopping it. I checked compression and it was 90psi on all 4 cylinders, but i checked it on a cold engine. Could it be because of the compression?

have you checked your timing? that sounds like the issue here.

90 psi all across? Have you performed any valve train work on this engine?

Installed a new game? New timing chain?

Did you perform any other work other than the headgasket?

Could you also take a pic of the of the cylinder head with the valve cover removed, with the engine set to TDC?

I'll get a picture tomorrow, could it be that i didn't hook up a ground wire? i believe there were 3 ground wire on the cylinder head? or are there more?

Could the Crankshaft position sensor cause it not to start?

A faulty sensor wouldn't cause such low compression readings.

Since all 4 cylinders are low, it is very likely that it is out of time. This could you also verify that the crank marks also line up?\

Missing ground wires do typically cause strange behaviours, but they are ECU related. In your case, it appears that it is a mechanical issue.

Nvm, I didn't install the distributor right, I just put it in without matching the marks. Installed it correctly now and it starts without a problem now. Thanks for your help though.
