Hey,

I'm new to this whole thing as you can tell by my number of posts but I have an s14 that didn't like it to well when I tried some burnouts and a little drifting so needless to say the stock clutch gave out on me. I can still limp it around as long as I stay under 3k rpm. I'm wondering if I can get some advice from yall about what kind of clutches you guys have used and what works well. This car is my daily driver and as far as mods go I'm probably not going to go far over 250 horses ever with it. Also, I'm wondering what kind of cost I should pay as opposed to what a shop would tell me. Thanks, and I'm glad to be a part of these forums.

if you are going for an aftermarket clutch id say go with ACT also. My bro had a stage 2 clutch in his hardbody and he beat it up all the time and it never gave him problems.

i don't plan on keeping my engine long so i just got a cheap 135 dollar car quest clutch, and i really don't like it. But like they said, i beard good things about ACT.

ACT it will be seeing the general concensus goes that direction.

Hey, one more quick question, would it be worth going with the lightened flywheel for my goal of just 250 horses or would it be more effective to just leave the factory one on and put the money into the turbo kit?

I've got clutch kit for my 240 in Nissan Dealer for just $125 and spent 6 hours replacing it myself. sinse then I drove more then 70K miles and have no problems.

Might try an OEM pressure plate with a Nismo organic street disk. I was using that combo on my KA with good success:) Pedal was still stock feeling, but with a bit more grab. Its also pretty cheap!

I have a Centerforce Dual Friction, Grabs hard and the pedal feels stock. No chattering at all, very smooth engagement. My stock clutch was gone when I got the car at 93,000 miles.

Yeah, it isn't hard to do, except getting the darn trans in and out, you gotta turn it and move it, turn it and move it, it's just soo close to the darn firewall!!
