Hi guys

Got my s14 swapped to manual last summer when my Auto died..

Didn't do it myself..

It has a KA-E transmission that works #1

At first, everything but the speedo seemed fine...I still haven't fixed the speedo so if anyone has hints about KAe transmission + KA24DE engine/s14 speedo..I'd love to know what usually goes wrong (I have the old Auto's speed sensor in the KA-E transmission..)

Anyways, I have a centerforce clutch (the cheapest normal one not one of the good ones) that I bought new when the swap was done, about 10 000miles ago.

Last summer, it worked perfectly EXCEPT for two days, where it had seemed to be slipping a little bit... then the next day it was OK, so I never really bothered checking, as I will not be running high power on that KA ever anyways.. I just want it to grip the stock engine fine..

Now, today, if I fully depress the clutch pedal, I cannot change gears. If I depress it maybe 1 inch from the floor, it is fine and I can change gears perfectly. Adjustment maybe?

HOWEVER, I am sure this is no coincidence, today, it started slipping a lot ! My car is stock !

Can anyone tell me what is usually wrong in a case like that?

Thanks

check your clutch forkpilot bearing and oother things when you did the swap.

Could it be a throw out bearing problem?

First check for the easy stuff. Check for fluid leaks. Make sure when you depress the clutch pedal, that the slave moves and holds when you hold the pedal. If it's not that move onto the next set of stuff. You're going to remove the transmission and if you've gone to this point, I'm guessing you've lost a few teeth on the pressure plate.
