I have a 1996 240sx SE with a full exhaust. I am looking at putting Brian Crower stage 2 cams in it and would like to know how much of a power gain that would be?

Pretty random guess of 10-15hp max, should be able to search and find people who have swapped them and ran dyno before and after.

I just did mine. Seems like a bit of power added but, more like a general smoother power band. Have not shimmed mine yet and it lobes bad and sputters from like idle to 2000 rpm, gradually getting better as it wears in.

Yours is doing that too?!?! Mine idles around 1800-2200 rpm at idle, replaced TPS, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, IAC, tried to mess with the screw. No vaccume leaks or anything. I thought it might be my fuel injectors, does yours seem to loose power going up hills more? It also shakes when Im in really low rpms (750-1000rpms). I have noticed that it shifts threw the higher rpms smoother.I didnt change the valves or anything kept them stock till I get a turbo. I also have a light weight flywheel, those stage 2 BC cams, CAI, 3in cat back+ 4-2-1 headers. My shim spacing was in factory tolerance so I left them.

What are you using to tune? At that stage in the game, you'd be doing yourself a favor by getting something to tune with. I'm planning on Nistune in the near future to upgrade my piggybacked setup which is doing roughly what you described.

I have not yet had it tuned, didnt think I had to. I dont have a turbo yet, same injectors. If I should have it tuned whats good? Ill do some research and see whats out there but shouldnt I wait till I get a turbo?

I was thinking of getting the same thing with the cams but wasn't sure where move the cam gears to get the proper cam timing and I was also thinking of getting JWT ecu upgrade as well
