 Im helping a buddy out with his 240 its basically stock with headers, full exhaust and high duriation cams (ill have to get with him on the size of cams) but its running rich. Does anyone have any ideas on what to use to correct this such as a fuel reg or a super afc?? Im thinking its a timming issue at idle.

How rich is it running? Is it really rich at idle and causing problems? Or more of running at 9:1 AFRs at full throttle? What is your fuel pressure at idle with vacuum connected? Vac disconnected?

Well he already drained about 5 gals of now pre mixed gas out of the crankcase so its pretty rich. He doesn't have a fuel gauge or afr gauge to tell. I talked to another guy he said that the cams might be put in wrong causing it to run rich as well. I was thinking if he used a super afc n just lean it out at idel he might be ok but I was checking on here for ideas other ppl might have had.

Cams shouldn't make it run that rich. Are the injector o-rings leaking? How about the 02 sensor and the coolant temp sensor? TPS adjusted properly? What cams did he put in? He have a vacuum gauge?

Hea going to get a super afc soon so that will help read n see data from the sensors to see why its running rich.
